Project Management
We have a very specific method of working, designed to keep the process as smooth and as glitch-free as possible. Here is the chain of events for any multimedia project:
Consultation:
We’ll consult you until we completely understand your business, your goals and expectations, and then take the time to demonstrate that we understand them, so that you’ll have confidence in our work.
Proposal:
We’ll produce a detailed proposal, based upon the consultation. This proposal will begin with a our understanding of your brief. If the project is a web site or interactive media, we will provide architecture or flow chart diagrams, as well as cross referenced descriptions detailing each page or section. We will also create some sample artwork, a mocked up interface or home page, perhaps, or a moodboard for print design. We will include a breakdown of both our responsibilities and yours (e.g. for supplying content) during the project, a critical path, and finally a quotation.
Creation
Our jumping off point for almost all our projects is the “look and feel”. With your continuous input, we will design the key graphical elements of your project: the home page of your web site, the opening of your presentation, of the front cover of your brochure.
Sign-off
Assuming you are happy with our proposal, we will ask you to sign off the agreed structure, any key design elements, as well as deadlines and areas of responsibility.
Development
The development process is the technical bit – where most of the hands-on work is done. We insist on continuous consultation with you during the development phase.
For web design projects, you will have password protected access to the site as it developed on our testing server. You will be able to monitor progress, and provide feedback whenever you want to.
For interactive media will make beta versions of the project available, either on disc, or via the internet, on a regular basis to allow you to review the project’s progress.
For print design, we will make draft copies, and proofs available to you on a regular basis throughout the lifetime of the project.
Testing and Proofing
Once the development phase is complete, we will turn the project over to you, for testing and proofing.
For web design and interactive media projects we will, of course, have been testing continuously throughout the development phase. However bugs inevitably creep into to a complex project, and it is essential that these are identified and eliminated before the project is launched. As you are one step removed from hand-on development, you are best placed to find bugs that may have escaped our notice.
For print design, we will supply you with an electronic proof for proof-reading, as well as an inkjet proof for colour checking. Once you are happy, we will ask you to sign-off the artwork, before the print-run begins.
Launch
The web site will go live, your interactive media will be replicated or installed, and your print design will be printed and finished.
