Yahoo! has emphasised that its strategy for next year will focus on offering more open products and services.
The web services company said at a recent event exploring its forthcoming initiatives that its European operations will follow the example of new schemes previously announced the US.
These include a revamped homepage featuring services and content from third parties, such as email from the likes of AOL and Google.
Furthermore, developers will be able to take advantage of a new Yahoo! Mail API to create their own non-commercial applications for the email service, Toby Coppel, managing director of Yahoo! Europe, said.
"It's about bringing in the applications that you care about. Our strategy is bringing the best of the web right in front of you," Computeractive reported the executive as stating.
Yahoo! most recently unveiled a new platform, known as APT, that allows organisations to conduct display ad buying and selling activities from a single base.
