Flash set for iPhone?

Web developers may be interested to read that Adobe has confirmed the development of a Flash player for the Apple iPhone.
According to Flash Magazine, Adobe senior engineering director Paul Betlem responded to a direct question from the audience at the Flash on the Beach conference in Brighton with the statement that the company is looking at a closed-platform player for the iPhone.
This means that it is up to Apple whether the player comes to the iPhone at all, he said.
Commenting on the news, TechCrunch's Jason Kincaid raised concerns over the iPhone's ability to support Flash playback without compromising on the performance of the device and its battery.
Flash "is notoriously CPU-intensive" and could impact negatively upon the iPhone's operation, he warned.
Despite this, iPhone users would be able to access a higher number of sites and applications with their handsets if they were able to view Flash content.
