Some 900,000 new blog posts are uploaded each day, a new survey by Technorati has revealed.

According to the website's latest State of the Blogosphere report, some 7.4 million blogs were posted in the last 120 days, while 1.5 million of these were published in the last seven days.

Technorati said that it had indexed about 133 million blog records since it started in 2002 and revealed that most blogs now carry some form of advertising, offering $6,000 in mean annual revenue in return for $1,800 of mean annual investment.

"Blogging continues to splinter into many different categories, providing an incredibly rich ecosystem of self expression tools and compelling content for readers," remarked Michael Arrington, founder of technology start-up news blog TechCrunch.

Meanwhile, Google co-founder Sergey Brin recently started his own blog on the search engine's Blogger service, it was revealed last week.ADNFCR-1093-ID-18792960-ADNFCR
