'More people turning to white hat SEO'

A growing number of website owners are using white hat search engine optimisation (SEO) strategies as part of their site promotion campaigns, Google engineer Matt Cutts has said.
He told CNET News.com that the search engine has seen a drop in the proliferation of sites using frowned-upon black hat SEO techniques, with many instead opting for fairer tactics.
Mr Cutts attributed this partly to Google's own responses to such websites, which include creating algorithms to shut down all instances of a particular black hat technique, as well as manually approaching individual sites believed to be infringing its guidelines and policies.
He said: "Google is good at detecting machine-generated spam, so we don't see much of that these days."
Earlier this year, Mr Cutts discussed some of the best ways of improving search engine rankings through white hat strategies in an interview with USA Today, including filling in all relevant website tags and creating a frequently updated blog.
