Users of Internet Explorer (IE) 8 will be able to temporarily browse the web in complete privacy, Microsoft has revealed.
Writing in a blog post, Microsoft program manager Andy Zeigler said that the new browser's InPrivate mode will allow users to surf the internet without storing cookies, passwords and other private data.
New history entries and temporary internet files will also be deleted after the session has ended, he explained.
This feature could be of particular benefit for those who want to protect their privacy on shared or public computers, such as when buying a surprise gift or conducting online banking activities, Mr Zeigler stated.
"With respect to privacy, IE8 gives users more choice about controlling what information they keep and exchange," he said.
Other IE8 features include better security and interactivity with other web applications directly from online pages, according to Microsoft.
