Boost SEO with well-researched keywords, says expert

Choosing the right keywords is dependent on the level of research conducted in the first place, an expert has said.
Consultant Damon Segal noted that tools such as WordTracker and Google Hot Trends can help to identify the terms that consumers are likely to input into search engines when looking for certain items, realbusiness.co.uk reports.
This can help businesses to avoid optimising a website for one keyword only to find that the majority of prospective customers are actually searching for the same products the company sells with a completely different term, he explained.
Mr Segal added: "If someone offers to optimise your website, asks you for the keywords but doesn't come back to you with suggestions for most-searched keywords – be suspicious.
"Without the research you really just won't know the right keywords."
Google's new Insights for Search tool may also be helpful for those who want to look at search trends based on geography or sector, according to comments made by Search Engine Land's Danny Sullivan to the New York Times earlier this month.
