Google top for US web users

A new report has revealed that Google was the most visited site in the US during July.
According to comScore, 141.6 million unique visitors went to the Google site last month, with second-place Yahoo! seeing 140.3 million such visits and Microsoft 120.2 million.
The company noted that July represented another strong month for visits to travel websites, thanks to the summer vacation.
"Ground travel and cruise sites gained once again as many Americans sought more budget-friendly ways to enjoy their summer vacations amid economic and fuel price concerns," said Jack Flanagan, executive vice-president of comScore Media Metrix.
The research also showed that Platform-A, owned by AOL, saw its ads achieve the greatest reach among the US web population, while Yahoo! and Google took second and third place respectively.
Earlier this month, comScore revealed that Facebook's global unique visitor count rose by 153 per cent to reach 132.1 million users in the last 12 months.
