Microsoft has rolled out a new version of its Live Search homepage in the US.

The homepage features a background image - which is regularly changed - containing interactive "hotspots".

Users can mouse over these spots to reveal more information about the image via search results.

According to Chris Rayner and Zach Gutt of the Live Search User Experience team, the changes have so far seen positive feedback from users.

"Our goal for the homepage is to find the best way to enhance users' sense of discovery, surprise and delight while balancing engineering realities for a great user experience," they said.

The new homepage will be rolled out in international territories in due course.

In other Live Search news, Microsoft last week revealed that it has formed an agreement with the US version of Facebook to provide the social networking website with search services and advertising.ADNFCR-1093-ID-18710654-ADNFCR
