Channel 4 site sees 32% boom in visitors

The Channel 4 website was the fastest growing online property with regards to unique visitors last month.

This is according to the latest statistics from comScore, which showed that 32 per cent more people visited the site last month compared with May, largely thanks to the channel's Big Brother programme.

Websites belonging to retailer John Lewis and the Guardian Media Group also rose in popularity last month, with both seeing unique visitor numbers rise by 14 per cent.

Google sites proved to be the most popular online destinations overall during June, while entertainment - news was the top website category for the month.

In addition, the statistics showed that the total UK web audience increased by one per cent during the period, reaching nearly 34.5 million people.
