The Ask.com search tool has been added to the latest version of the Opera web browser.
Opera 9.51 now enables users to directly access the Ask.com search engine from the desktop. The new facility is available around the world except in China, Japan, Poland, Russia and the Commonwealth of Independent States.
Jon von Tetzchner, chief executive of Opera, said that the addition of Ask.com was "a great complement" to other search options available in the Opera browser.
"Opera believes in offering people a rainbow of choices. Ask.com provides an innovative search experience, preferred by millions of people across the world," he added.
The release of Opera 9.51 follows the launch of Opera 9.5 on June 12th. About 4.7 million downloads of Opera 9.5 were recorded in the five days following the release.
Features of the new browser include the ability to synchronise bookmarks, notes and other elements between different devices and stronger security against web-based threats.
