Consumers need more from their mobile internet services, new research has shown.
A study by creative agency, AKQA and mobile internet firm, dotMobi, has revealed nearly half of users had such a poor initial experience, they were reluctant to access services again.
"The enormous popularity of mobile devices has had a profound effect on the lifestyle of the consumer," noted Daniel Rosen, managing director of AKQA.
The top reasons for dissatisfaction amongst users were poor mobile website displays and page layouts.
Amy Mischler, vice president of Identity and Brand Services at dotMobi, said the results signified "the need for a better mobile experience".
The survey revealed consumers want more practical mobile content, such as phone-optimised banking, rather than games and ringtones.
Analyst, e-Marketer predicted users looking for "a robust range of user-friendly, ad-supported content and services" in 2008, would be disappointed.
