The National Health Service (NHS) has launched a new website following its NHS Innovations South East (NISE) project.
Designed by the Marvellous Media Company, it was created to give them flexibility and complete control over their online content.
John Stedman, chief executive at NISE, said the Surrey based company "were in tune with the cutting edge technology and understood the need to communicate to all types of people".
The innovations scheme wanted to harness the ideas of NHS staff to help improve their service, while giving them inspiration from businesses.
"We are delighted both with the look of the website and the content management system," Mr Stedman added.
Companies are increasingly looking to social media tools to help staff better communicate and executives are keen to see an interactive element in their companies web design.
Senior marketing executives in Canada, France, the United Kingdom and the United States have said social media is a vital component of corporate communications, according to research sponsored by TNS Media Intelligence/Cymfony.
