Microsoft has launched its MSN Environment site, which it hopes will educate people on eco issues.
The site feature a calculator that helps users establish their carbon impact and stories and videos on environmental issues.
"People are becoming increasingly concerned about the environment and are looking for ways they can help out and become part of the solution rather than the problem," said Peter Bale, executive producer.
By using 2D and 3D mapping visitors to the site can view those areas most at risk from global warming.
"The channel is a fun and engaging way to help them stay on top of hot issues and learn more about what they can do to make a difference," he claimed.
Businesses are looking to use the internet more effectively to communicate and reduce their carbon emissions and tax bills.
