GetBack, a new social networking site (SNS), has been launched for older music fans, the Hollywood Reporter revealed.

The site offers community tools for people aged 35 to 55-years-old, a timeline of news and trivia from 1968-90 and ready-prepared content.

It is designed for music fans who have not identified with the Facebook and MySpace offerings. "We found that demographic was coming online with full broadband and using social networking," president Chris Dominguez noted.

The site also shows music videos from Universal Music Group and Warner and hopes to sign-up IMI.

Analyst comScore's research on social media found the top networks achieved huge growth last year.

It found users increased by 72 per cent (MySpace), 172 per cent (Bebo), and 270 per cent (Facebook).
