MySpace becomes your space

Web 2.0

17 March 2008

MySpace has opened up its platform and attracted hundreds of applications from developers.

According to reports on the company's official blog, the MySpace Developer Program is now live in Beta form and a host of new applications have been made available.

"We're reviewing apps on-going as they are submitted," the site revealed.

Facebook received more than 15,000 applications after utilising its 'open' Facebook Platform. Google's Open Social set-up lets designers create applications across all its sites.

Analysts, comScore created a Facebook ranking chart, which assessed when members of the site engaged with a new Widget application rather than just observe it.

It revealed that more than 20 million people, 61 per cent of the site's visitors, have engaged with a Widget and the most popular was 'Top Friends'.
