Failing to connect

A quarter of people in the UK are unhappy with the customer service they receive from their Internet Service Provider (ISP), Webuser has reported.

The broadband division of telecom's company Orange canvassed 1,500 customers and revealed that one in five has had to contact customer support at east three times.

"It's clear from previous studies and backed up by this research that UK broadband customers have low overall satisfaction," said Sally Cowdry, managing director.

The research found that more than 750 people had lost patience with their PC and then lost their temper.

Ms Cowdry told Webuser that some customers "are not having an easy ride when it comes to set up, maintenance and customer support of their service".

BT has recently moved to install a fibre only network in homes in the Ebsworth Valley – it should allow for connection speeds of 100MBps.ADNFCR-1093-ID-18441542-ADNFCR
