Google remains the most popular search engine in the US according to the latest figures from web analysts comScore.
The number one search engine accounted for more than half of all searches in November, with 58.6 per cent, meaning the market share stood at around the same level as it was the previous month.
More than 5.8 billion searches were conducted on Google sites during the month.
Second was Yahoo!, which garnered 22.4 per cent of searches, followed by Microsoft (9.8 per cent) and Ask on just under five per cent.
Ask has launched a concerted marketing campaign to try to make inroads into its rivals’ dominant share, but the latest figures suggest it still has some way to go before it can improve its visibility.
In total comScore said Americans conducted ten billion searches using the core search engines, a five per cent dip on October.
However, analysts said November had one less day in the month and seasonally is a slower month than many.
