The launch of Google's latest networking feature has brought the company closer to the social networking world, it has been reported.
Google Profile allows users of Google products to display information about themselves and share it with other users.
The profile includes basic details like name, photo and location and could be found by a Google search enquiry.
Computer World has quoted one blogger who predicted the company will bring out a social networking platform "sooner than anyone realises".
"Google is rolling out its own social features methodically, explaining them clearly, and respecting their user base by saying they will make changes per user feedback," it quoted Sepideh Saremi as saying.
Apple's iPhone is currently top of the search engines annual list of fastest rising searches. Other items in the top ten were YouTube, Facebook and Transformers.
