MySpace is to host the broadcast of Hammer Films' first movie in 30 years.

Beyond the Rave will be shown in a series of webisodes next year on social networking site MySace before its official release on DVD.

Simon Oakes, of Hammer Film Productions said: "This is a bold venture creating horror for the 21st century through a variety of technologies."

The company produced a wide variety of films but was best known for its horror movies and performances by Christopher Lee and Peter Cushing.

One earlier Hammer movie is still showing around the country – The British Film Institute re-released a restored version of Dracula, on Halloween this year.

The internet is increasingly hosting video clips. News providers and commercial sites are taking advantage of increased broadband access to stream moving content.

Google recently opened Adsense, its video advertising network to the UK, allowing advertisers to display ad-supported clips on their websites.ADNFCR-1093-ID-18395427-ADNFCR
