Broadband speeds in the UK are far too slow and customers are dissatisfied, a study has revealed.
Research by price comparison site uSwitch found that more than 25 per cent of households are unhappy with the connection speed provided by their internet service provider (ISP).
Webuser reported Steve Weller, head of communications services, saying: "It's like selling a Porsche that will only go as fast as a Reliant Robin."
The research found that a quarter of households do not know which speed they signed up to and 31 per cent are unaware what speed they actually get.
Latest figures suggest that growth of the UK broadband market will slow, as the pool of people still to transfer from dial-up connections dries up.
Banks are keen to encourage customers to manage their accounts online. However, recent government data safety losses have affected internet users and they are now more cautious with their information.
