The European Commission is asking for more information from the industry before it decides on Google's proposed purchase of online advertising company, DoubleClick, reports CNN Money.com
According to a document seen by Dow Jones Newswires, the commission has sent out a second questionnaire to customers and publishers looking for opinions on the purchase.
A lawyer familiar with the publishing part of the deal said they were looking to establish whether clients believed there was an alternative to the pact.
Google will be pleased with news from the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission's (ACCC). The commission decided not to intervene in the deal as they thought the two were not close rivals.
The company will have to wait till November 13th for a decision as the EU commission recently extended its deadline for the investigation.
Tim Armstrong, Google's president, advertising and commerce, North America is keen for it to go through.
"This transaction will strengthen our advertising network by expanding our access to publisher inventory and enabling us to serve the needs of a broader set of advertisers and ad agencies," he said.
