Google Analytics gets extras
Visitor Conversion, Internet Marketing, E-commerce

Google has improved its Analytics web service and added new site search
capabilities.
The company announced the addition to its service at the eMetrics summit in Washington.
Site search tracks internal search patterns and
aggregates data about how searches affect site usage and e-commerce
activity.
In a statement Google claimed: "Users can enable site search to identify keywords, categories, products, and trends across time and user
segments, thereby helping them measure the effectiveness of their
websites and their marketing dollars."
The company hopes to keep up with Web 2.0 features by introducing event
tracking and an updated version of Urchin software.
Event tracking will measure a visitor's engagement with a site's
interactive elements such as Flash movies and downloads.
Despite being the world-leading search engine Google is increasingly
challenged from regional competitors who offer similar services.
