The popular London newspaper the Evening Standard is launching its own website as part of continuing online market campaign.

Previously, the newspaper resided under the thisislondon.co.uk entertainment website.

The website, called Standard.co.uk, includes news stories, Evening Standard columnist pieces and a podcast.

Standard.co.uk will also offer readers the chance to interact in a forum and online voting polls.

Brand Republic reports that Veronica Wadley, editor of the Evening Standard, said: "We are proud to have successfully campaigned through the paper on behalf of Londoners and have received overwhelming support from readers.

"Now we will be able to raise the profile of our campaigns further through our new web pages and allow readers to join debates and give their views instantly on the internet."

In addition to the new consumer site, the Standard is relaunching its trade website ESadvertising.co.uk, which will provide regular research and analysis on Londoners' consumer behaviour to help advertisers in their decision making.
