The Eden Project will employ Web 2.0 technology as part of its strategy to win £50 million of lottery funding for a new project, Vnu.com has reported.
The green tourist attraction in Cornwall hopes to outperform five other organisations to secure the public vote for the money on offer from the Big Lottery Funds Living Landmarks programme.
It plans to launch a new website next month to help win the support of the public to acquire funds to build a centre that explores living with climate change.
Eden Project head of IT Jon Curry said: "Our aim is to use Web 2.0 by developing a website with rich media to appeal to an interactive community.
"It is all about using technology to get your message across to the public and capturing their interest. The technological tools are there and it is mattering more how we use them.
"The focus for us is reaching our electorate by using our database of contacts and interactive media."
